Default serpentine belt issue in LS1 88 IROC

Guys I am having problems with the serpentine belt wanting to come off from the idler tensioner and the the alternator pulleys. The rest of the pulleys seem to be aligned.

I bought the car in pieces I have no idea what anything is but my heads are 243 castings (LS2 or C5 Z06??), and my block is an LS1. All of this in a 88 IROC.

Has anyone seen this before? Do I just shim the pulley's? Shouldn't it all align ?? Is there any reason why the alternator pulley is so out of alignment? Idler?

Thank You for any help!

1st post - trying to get the car running reliably I will introduce myself as soon as it runs!!!!!!!!

I'd say that maybe it has the wrong balancer on it. Maybe a truck unit and not an f body one.

Take the belt off and wiggle the tensioner. Corvettes are notorious for tensioner failures resulting it tossed belts, albeit you've got Fbody accessories

If the tensioner is fine, give the pulley mfr a call
