So, I just moved to washington state where I don't think it ever stops raining here. I was wanting to do a set of pacesetter headers and tsp true duals with some sweet thunders but I'm afraid they'll rust up really quick. Or I could do something like the american racing headers, y pipe, and loudmouth 2 or gmmg. What do you guys think. I want something that will last... I'm open to any ideas.

Stainless...stainless....and did I mention Stainless!! LOL Look on ebay, you can get stainless headers for cheap! And some people on here have them and would recommend them. I wish I had seen them before I bought my headers but that will definitely be the way I go on my next set!! As far as exhaust, its really what YOU want. Do you want loud or moderate, drone or no drone, tame at cruise loud at WOT. Many things to consider but the end result is what fits YOUR taste!!!

Yeah my paceshitters showed rust within 2 weeks car is washed once a week in the spring and summer and only driven on really nice days,I know a guy that got the ebay headers 189 dollars and his look 10 times better than mine,as for the catback, duals will sound better period, but really depends on what ya want,I had a lm1 on stock manifolds sounded sweet, longtubes and ory it got loud but my y had a really good merge so it still sounded pretty good but rasp and drone increased, now with the ms4 cam it was really loud, wot sounded like a top fuel car lol, maybe not that loud but louder than any other setup I've heard, best catback is the gmmg, sounds killer but also gets a lil rasp with headers, ory, and cam etc, good luck man

I would recommend some stainless headers because they won't rust. They may be more expensive but I doubt you would have to replace them anytime soon unlike someone with something like a pacesetter.

Yeah when I swap heads I will be doing the headers to something stainless, pacesetters work and are well worth the money but I wish I would have just saved up a lil more for kooks or something

So if I get a set of american racing headers will I still have to worry about the x pipe you guys offer rusting up. I want duals, but I don't want to have to replace them. I want to put something on the car and leave it alone.

If you want the stainless true duals system Kooks is now offering these and they look outstanding and are very high quality.

Yeah, I thought about it for a second...but not much longer than that. Just too much money. I don't mind spending the money for the ss headers but I really want to run something like a powerstick or sweet thunders but nobody makes a ss universal x pipe or ss kit (other than kooks) from what I've found. Just don't know what to do.

I just recently did my exhaust and if I could do it over again I would go with the eBay stainless headers.. I've seen them as low as $170 such a steal. I paid $289 for my Hooker headers which after a couple months are already starting to show some small rust spots.

The best deal I've found in a long timeee. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BBK-1694/ They are chrome and I just installed the passenger side today with new head. That setup also includes a y-pipe.

The newer style SLP longtubes, although costly, are both stainless AND ceramic coated, FYI. And the fittiment is much better than the older style SLPs.

^ Interesting. I had some pacesetters on my old lt1 car along with some powersticks on a custome x pipe and never had an issue. Had them on the car for about 2 years with no issues. Also had a set of kooks on my 00 SS I had and the collectors were rusted on it so I'm just confused.
