That is usually one of the steps in porting the intake. There has been a few post about porting them and some say you gain hp and some loss it. I personally couldn't tell any difference in my l76 intake ,before or after but i don't have any dyno numbers for it.

most of the post i see about porting are limited to making the TB mouth bigger to accommodate a 80mm TB......i have seen nothing about removal of the supports........if they were removed......what would you plug the holes up with?
