What makes the MAF's different between 98-00 and 01-02
because i have a 99 and i am also doing a LS6 intake with out EGR

SO do i need a 01-02 or 98-00

YES I KNOW LS1techs feeling on this part but i getting it cheap cheap

I believe it is just a resistor that calibrates it to work with each computer. I'm sure you could just have a tuner tune it for your car if you already have one. I've never done it so I can't tell you for sure but I don't see any reason why it couldn't either. The EGR doesn't have anything to do with it.
