Default cruise control delete? how

How do I delete my cruise control? My throttle cable comes from it, how do I get around that?

You can go to the dealership or to the junkyard an get a single cable to run from the gas pedal to the throttle body. I did it when I was trying to rule out an issue with my car awhile back. I am not sure of the part number off hand but I know they do sell a cable for non tcs an cruise control. Hope that helps some

I'll assume this is for a 2000 Camaro SS?

The throttle cable is the same for cars with or without cruise control. GM part number 12565560, $46.26 at Parts Taxi.

The throttle cable is different for cars with traction control.

My car has the tcs, does the new cable just plug into one of the other cables coming out of the firewall that go to my cruise control now? Also, is that the part # to the cable I need since I have tcs? thanks for the help

So it's the traction control you want to remove.

You will need to get the non-traction control cable.

Here's how it works:

Cars with TCS:
Cable goes from the gas pedal to the TCS controller. Another cable comes out from the TCS controller and goes to the throttle body.

Cars without TCS:
Cable goes from the gas pedal to the throttle body.

The cruise control is seperate. It's cable goes directly to the throttle body on cars with or without TCS.

To do the job you want to:
Remove the existing cable from the gas pedel to the TCS and the cable from the TCS to the throttle body. Install the new cable from the gas pedel to the throttle body. Have a beer.
