I have done away with the power steering. Still have the factory water pump. Motor is a LQ9. I don't mind drilling and tapping a hole. It just looks like without the powersteering pump the belt won't have a lot of "bite" on the water pump. Just trying to see what brackets everyone is running.

Moderators, didn't know if this belonged in "external engine" or "conversions and hybrids"....Move if needed.

The belt will not have a whole lot of contact area but it is common to run it that way. If you do a search for "short belt mod" you should find a number of threads where folks bypass the power steering pulley using the stock alt. bracket.
