good street Stall converter?
friend of mine is lookin to do work on his 02 z28. he's gonna do an ms3 or ms4 down the road and i dont know alot about what stall converter is good for the street that will also give the car the power when needed. i was thinking of anywhere between a 3000-3500 stall. is this too much? car is daily driven but uk the kids 20 years old and wants to have some fun with it too. what are you guys using in terms of brand and what stall are you happy with?
Thanks
Anthony

No personal experience (M6 here) but from what I've read, I'd go with a yank 3600 or 4000. I'd lean more towards the 4k since he'll be doing the MS3/4 but maybe others with hands on knowledge will chime in. But it seems as though everyone who gets a 3200 always wants to step up to the 3600/4k lol.

I have had both 3200 and 3600 on my Autos and for daily driving the 3200 was nice but if you want more kick the 3600 is better with only a little more noticability (Is that even a word) when driving.

4400... the very smallest either of those cams should have is a 4000. You will also want at least a 373 gear, 410 would be ideal.
If you go 3000-3600 the car will be lazy coming out of the hole and from a roll, shift extensions play a roll in this as well. Those are max effort cams, if you dont want a max effort setup, 410 4400 etc etc, pick a cam more suited for your needs. If you pick one of those cams and pick your other mods suited on DD, 342 or 373 or 3500, the car is going to get beat by a properly set up 226 cam car... which is quite embarrassing.

Im running a vigilante 3200 and 3.73, along with a 230 duration cam. My setup drives very good. I dont have any headaches, or anything driving this setup. I can probably drive my car cross country with how smooth and civil it drives. I do plan on stepping up to a much larger stall.
