Default Exhaust question

Just got a 99Z28 with these mods done
LQ9 6.0lt engine swap
1200 HP built 6 speed transmission
Slightly Ported 317 heads
MS3 cam
PRC Dual .650 Springs
Hardened Comp Pushrods
LS6 intake manifold painted black
Valve Covers painted black
Bosch 42LB injectors
Jet Hot LT headers
Whisper Lid
True duals
255 Walboro/Racetronix fuel pump setup
EGR/A.I.R. delete
Fake cats
Nitto 555 275/40/ZR17 fronts
Nitto 555r 275/40/R17 rears
NEW LS7 clutch (Less than 500 miles)
MGW short throw shifter
Tuned by Complete Street Performance - put down 412 RWHP / 392 RWTQ

right now it has the long tube headers with true duals with nothing but fake cats and then dumped at the rear end, Sounds KILLER! but too loud for a DD, I want to quiet it down and go out the back, One shop here in town said it would make as much if not more power to run a single 3 1/2 pipe from x pipe to over the rear end into a 1 in 2 out muffler then duals out the back, should i do this or just finish the duals on out the back? I just dont wanna lose power and gotta quiet it down.

Look up running them under the axle. It's been done a lot around here with great success. Another option is to get some Magnaflow 4x9 mufflers (full size) and mount them under the rear seat pans. That will quiet it down a LOT and still flow like a straight thru bullet.

I think at your power level you would be alright with a normal 3'' ORY and GOOD catback and cutout, you won't lose much power if any and you can change the sound levels when needed.

when I was at your power level I only saw 6hp difference between true duals and ORY / Catback

its gonna be true duals, will be 3 in with x pipe run to rear end then stepped down to 2 1/2 from there out the back to a 5 in round magnaflow.
