Default can an exhaust change the way ur car lopes?

i had a slp loudmouth on my car with thunder racing 236.6/330.5 603/578/ 111.6 cam with stock heads and the car loped pretty good at idle. After i intalled the prc heads and ind intake manifold and stuff plus a flowmaster exhaust which was a mistake, you can hardly hear it lope at all. i was just wondering if anyone knows what could have changed it so much thanks

Is it a FM cat-back system or Mufflex cat-back system?

Those duels will clean up that sound for sure, still think you would be able to have a strong idle through what you have already though...

Muffler choice can DEFINATELY change the way a cam sounds at idle. I have a GMMG and its always hit hard. My little brother just switched from a Hooker catback to the TSP tru duals with bullets and his car sounds like a completely different car. Same cam and everything. It makes the cam sound twice as big as it did before. Most of the difference being the exhaust is dumped under the car. Every car I have ever had with dumps it sounds deeper and makes the cam lope harder.... especially with bullets or the like.

Nope.. Just amplifies or deadens what you've already got.

yes i think a change in catback can change the tone or sound of a cam as odd as that sounds. I have a 230 duration cam with longtubes, ory, and magnaflow and you couldnt hear it lope for ****. Now that i have TSP duals dumped, it sounds like a monster..

Yeah, it will help. Dump it if you really want to make some noise.

You will really love the sound of the sweet thunders. That is the setup i wanted, but i am now running TSP duals w/ dynomax bullets.
