Default Tired of my Magnaflow CB

Hey all as the title states im tired of my Magnaflow catback, ive been thinking about having a custom y-pipe made with a flowmaster merge 3.5 inch out and a custom mufflex type exhaust.

I was wondering if anybody has done this and did you have any clearance problem with a 3.5 inch pipe over the axle. Thanks ahead of time for all the insight.

Shouldn't have any issues. Guys are getting two 3"pipes over the axles now for some of these bad *** true dual set ups, that and I think the mufflex is just a direct bolt up.

You should be good, just search it.

I plan to do the exact same thing. My car is lowered and has a 12bolt (larger axle tubes) so my clearance is limited. I bought a BMR panhard relocation kit for a lil extra room then will drive over to Mufflex and see if the 4" system fits. If not I'll just go with the 3.5" w/ single hideaway pipe.

Yeh thats actually why lol it sounds good from the outside but id like to be able to hear it with the windows down while cruising around.

Its not that it doesnt sound good but ive been having fitment issues like getting the tips to line up, over axle pipe banging around and when i did the headers the y pipe outlet size was the same size as the connection for the i pipe.

Exactly!!! Magnaflow is too quiet man. The quality is great. I didnt have any fitment problems. But it was just too quiet. My neighbor with a dodge truck exhaust sounds meaner than my cammed car with magnaflow.. Now that i have duals, its so much better. Meaner, and sounds more muscular and powerful sounding.

Notice how everybody says magnaflow is quiet, and screams at WOT!!

It is too quite, sounds good at WOT but local law enforcement arent the best when it comes to people show boating lol. Im just trying to find something that will give me a good tone yet not be as an LM catback. Just seems theres not a happy medium for our cars.

I would look into hookers catback. It might be just as quiet as magnaflow is, but it has a more deeper, rumble and muscular sound. I would also look into corsa but that system is pricey. Borla has a good sound also.

The magnaflow sounds good in a car wash bay. I can't wait to get rid of mine since it fits like crap too. But, right now I'm divided between getting GMMG or some 4.56s and a spool.

Idk what im gonna do with it just yet, im gonna email an exhaust shop and see how much it would cost to have something fabbed up. Maybe they would wanna just trade for it idk?

But if they dont it will prolly go for sale on the classifieds and craigslist.

If your gonna sell your maggy let me know,as far as cops and loud exhaust go,I drove my car a lot last year ms4 cam,ory,lm1 and never had any trouble, yes if your going wot or acting like a jackass you will have a issue, yeah everyone always say magnaflow screams at wot ,well most exhaust do,true duals is the way to go,cannot beat the sound, there a pain to get done right and not that cheap if you go over the axle but man it sounds great,on my ssim going with the tsp x pipe,
