Default iat sensor broke?

I pulled my lid off today to take out the iat sensor and rubber ring, to put in my new slp lid. When it pulled out it somehow broke the little guard around the tip of the sensor. It looks ok still- just doesnt have that guard/shell. Should i put this back in- or just buy a new iat sensor??

Try and run it that way, If it doenst throw any codes itll prolly be fine, that gaurd is to protect the tip. I would consider replacing it though so you know its working correctly.

I'd use it. If it's broken you'll get a code, then easy enough to replace. But it's probably fine, those sensors are about as simple as you can get, the only thing that can go wrong is a broken connection.
