the only thing on the rear of the manifold is the map sensor.....a vacuum port for the brake and HVAC....what do you mean EGR?

those tabs on the bung are pretty fragile......so i cut a circle around the bung on the LS1 intake......pulled it out.....and gently depress the tabs to remove it from cut intake piece.....then i cut the bung .......the bung not the intake.......on the LS6 intake til i could see the tabs .....takes a lot of cutting to get to the tabs....depressed the tabs on the bung with a screwdriver and got it out......slapped in the LS1 bung and.......woooo hooo

the tab to hold down the MAP was broken on the LS6 so thats why i swapped them out

If that tab is broken, you could just zip-tie the sensor down. It's really held in by the orange rubber gasket anyway, the tab is more like a backup.

Terrible reason to go through all that for the bung. The stock tab sucks for holding the MAP down anyways. Zip tie it and forget it. More secure that way anyhow
