Default Exhaust is too loud :(

Well im moving in with my girlfriend next friday into a triplex town house style apartment community and accroding to them my car might be too loud and disturb the neighbors. So im looking to keep everybody happy here and change my exhuast. Current set up is TSP Lontubes with 3" sweet thunder true duals dumped at rear axle. Ive been looking on youtube and ls1sounds at differnt set ups. Ive been watching alot of "Detoxxs" videos and really like the sound of the borla xr-1 in his brola-mouth. Anybody have any experience hearing this set up in person?

Put some cats in. it will help the sound and quiet it down for you.

Y'all for real? Don't be a dick and tame it down. I ditched my duals for a cat back. My neighbors hated me at 2-3 am crank ups.

Any car is gunna be loud at 2 or 3 am, if you keep the car at idle and crawl in and out then its not that bad. I dont think its being a dick just dont see why someone would need to do that.

Dont be silly, if you are hated by your neighbors it could get bad.

You have more to lose than gain. You don't want people f-ing with your car because they're super pissed that you arn't considerate of their neighborhood.

Just quiet it down. My Magnaflows are quiet at idle and beast-like loud at WOT - perfect IMO.

Just keep it until they say something. I would keep it, and try to be cool with the neighbors and ask them if they dont mind it.

Keep it loud and just idle through the neighborhood. That was they hear you idling and will respect the fact you're not reving it. Worst case scenario don't change it until someone does complain!

in my opinion there is no such thing as too loud, but having pissed off neighbors and an even more pissed off GF with a beautiful car is risky business, I'd say after the setups Ive had on my F-bodies maybe throw a Magnaflow CB on there, deff agree with briancb1 in the fact that theyre refined with normal driving but will deliver a GREAT sound at WOT....just me putting my 2 cents in

Well honestly guys I love the sound of my car and I don't think it's too loud nor is there such thing as being too loud. The only reason I wanna change it is to make the gf happy and not worry about us getting kicked out especially after paying a $500 deposit and a $500 pet deposit which is both non refunadable no matter what. Idling will only help when leaving cause it's on a hill but coming home would be the problem and when I start it up in the morning to go to work it might be a problem. The only reason I worry is cause my car is gonna be parked literally 10 yards from my neighbors front door. Luckily were on a end apartment. I'm kinda leaning towards some suggestions to leave it untill it gets complained about cause I only drive it to and from work and some on the weekends. All of the other times were in my gf's car. I'm just kinda scared to try it cause the number one thing that pisses me off is somebody messing with my property especially my car and if I caught somebody messing with it I'd prolly shoot them honestly lol but I don't think these people would mess with it. I'm just trying to stay outta trouble

Personally, I would look into a Magnaflow Cat-Back like previously mentioned. They are pretty quiet around town, but are loud, and sound amazing at WOT.

I would be considerate by not revving, and idling through the neighborhood, but I would never change anything on my car because someone else didn't like it. Its your car. Do with it what you want while at the same time being respectful. If they can't deal with that, which by the way, no one has even said anything to you about it, then at the most maybe a set of hi flow cats, or, pull out those sweet thunders and put a longer set of sweet thunders in it. The longer the muffler the quiet it will be. I think the tsp kit comes with the 16-19" mufflers. You could shorten the length of the pipe before the muffler and put in like a 28-32" sweet thunder. It would still sound great but would tone the volumn down a lot more than you may think.

I have a magnaflow catback when I want it quieter, it's awesome... I can cruise in my driveway at 2 am and don't wake up anyone, and it roars at WOT.

And a e-cutout for when I want it loud, best of both worlds with this combo.

IMO I would leave it until somebody complains about it or says anything. After all they have to give you a fair warning that they will kick you out for the car being too loud before they can actually just kick you out. I say leave it and just idle in and try and creep in there without revving. Thats what I usually do and it keeps the neighbors happy.

I would leave it,but I had the same issue,I leave for work at 4 am and when I would start my car the walls inside would shake, this is my complex, you can hear almost everything in this place, but when I would pull in late I would just idle in,but it was leaving in the am that pissed everyone off,
