If the PCM doesnt have EGR disabled, then yes

Dont bother cutting anything. Unbolt and blockoff the holes

Lol no I'm scared of not passing an inspection if I get rid is air and egr. Engine bay would look so much better but not worth the risk to me.

is there any performance? no. looks wise it make the engine bay look cleaner. i pulled the whole AIR and EGR set-up out of my car and it makes it much easier to work on the top end if need be. if you want the proper plug for the fitting go to your local gm dealership and they can order it for you for the same price if you jimmy rig something from home depot or lowes. i'll post up a pic here shortly for ya

I think you misunderstood my original question. Is it worth it to cut the pipe, NOT delete it all together.....

It's a free-mod.. It can't hurt. Would prolly just make your setup breath a little easier is all.

Guys, the OP wishes to retain the EGR. Going to a LS6 intake manifold is not an option for him.

Yes, trimming the EGR tube poked into the front of the intake manifold can be done safely. I would think as your car is pretty much stock, no gains will be had.

Give it a trim thats what i did until i deleted it. Now planning on getting an ls6 intake once i get the funds together. No ses light cam up when i trimmed it, just helps by removing a intrusion in the path of the air.

Not completely stock, I have LT, hi-flow cats, lid & K&N, smooth bellow (thanks bayer), ported maf, ported TB, bump stop mod, true duals, and LM1's. So that being said I wouldn't see anything from this??

You dont have to pass a sniffer test do you? Because with those mods theres no way in hell you'd pass if they did a sniffer in the tail pipe. If its just a visual inspection and ses check then why not do the free mod now and then get an ls6 intake and have your tuner delete the egr code

No I dont have a sniffer test BUT it will pass it with these mods. My cats are Magnaflow Heavy Metal and they are OBDII compliant. I will pass whatever they throw at it.

so you have all that stuff and you kept your EGR and AIR????? why would you want to cut it off instead of gettin the hose that has the block in it like bayer posted? if your goin to cut it off you might as well remove it entirely, other than it doesn't hurt if it's there it wont hurt if it's not there

^ Yeah, if you don't have a sniffer test, you don't have to worry about it, BUT deleting the EGR WILL set a code
