upset about header install
i would be lying if i said i was happy with my longtube header install, i just put on new ceramic coated flowtech headers with ORY, first of all the whole install was a pain in the ***, i installed new poly motor mounts, stage 8 locking bolts, new plugs, wires ect. the driver side motor mount went back in no problem, the passanger side fought me for over 3 hours but finally got it, then came the header bolt closest to the firewall on the passanger side, after 2 hours i got that 1 to go in, after it was all said and done it took 16 hours to install and start up finally, the headers sound great, the throttle response is unbelievable, so i take my car to the track thinking i had to have gained a good 2-3 tenths, the best i could get my car to do was 9 hundreths faster, not even a whole tenth, ARE YOU FU**ING KIDDING ME!! all that for not even a tenth i gained more with my damn lid and air filter swap, the only thing i can think of is i had my pcu tuned by frost about 3 months ago, i told him the tune would be for longtube headers and ory, but i wasn't able to put the headers on till last week, would having my computer retuned now pick me up anymore time in the 1/4 mile?

UNDER PRESSURE MOD

Welcome to the world of dragracing and modding cars. Not every mod results in gains at the track the first time out. Without a tune looking at wideband O2 readings, you could be lean or rich throughout the run and leaving e.t. on the table.

ok i guess i'm crying now, yeah i'll have to get it hooked up to a wideband to see what's going on, i'm thinking after the computer got tuned i hooked it up and drove it for a while and it learned how to tune itself to the stock manifolds and cats, does this sound correct?

If you want to go fast you have to expect blood sweat and tears sometimes. I live in California and every two years for smog I have to pull my entire exhaust which includes dropping the rear end completely out, replacing the headers, changing the intake...... and then driving it down the street to get the smog and then do it all over again to put the go fast parts backs on. The fastest and simplest thing you can do to pick up time at the track is a set of wider and taller than stock drag radials, high stall converter, rear end gears and remove weight off your car(free). You also don't have a sig with your mods are you m6 or auto? If your m6 and do not have slicks or drag radials adding power with no traction already will not let you go faster.

You have a strong runner and it sounds like Frost did a hell of a job tunning it for you.. Stop crying and enjoy the ride..

Holy ****...you're running 11's with bolt ons? Hell, I counted at least 3 that shouldnt have even really given you any real gains. Looks like you got a Tuesday motor...congrats!

my 60 times are better than yours but you should be close to what is expected out of your setup. Take some weight off with a good cam and you could probably run in the 10's if you did 11's with your current setup.
