just added a Borla catback
i switched out an SLP catback (the quietest SLP they make) for a Borla catback and i thought it would be a drastic change in sound especially since im running no plate in the borla but the sound is really not that much different........I mean yeah its a little louder but not like i thought.
The rest of the exhaust is still completely stock, i guess that just shows how much the shitty *** tubing they put and the catalytic converters really restrict the flow and sound.
I know once i add headers and ORY the sound change will be extreme!
atleast it better be!!....lol

Borla the best catback IMHO but the SLP dual dual which is what you had prior sounds the best with all the bolt ons and a cam. Not too loud not too quiet

lt1 trans am
I knoe this is off topic but I'm new to ls1tech I have a 1995 trans am with a lt4 hotcam, 2500 stall, k&n intake, 3.73 gears, shift kit, straight pipe, and hooker headers I haven't put it on the dyno or got it tuned but I'm trying to figure out about how much hp I'm puttin out I've seen people say about 340 to 360 with this set up but I was watching car and driver and saw a trans am put out like 386 with just a ram air kit and headers and it was proven on the dyno

hmmm? so i had the SLP dual dual...i didnt know what it was called...i just know when i bought the car thats what the guy told me it was.
I did a youtube search for the dual dual and yeah i guess that is what i had, i can tell from the same little teeny dual round tips and also it had small tubing coming from the muffler to the tips but 3" all the way up to the muffler.
I know the BORLA sounded badass when i had it on my stroker IROC with no plate. it was like illegal loud!...lol

i did keep the dual dual......i just switched them from car to car. The dual dual came on my TA when i bought and i had the Borla on my IROC but im gonna attempt to sell the camaro so i switched them out. The borla is worth more to me than the SLP and sounded great on my camaro.
I guess i'll fined out what it sounds like when i connect the SLP to the ORY on the camaro. Its got 1.75 headers, no cats and 3" y all the way back. Also got a pretty decent cam in it.
Whistling borla? i never noticed that on my IROC.....just freakin NASCAR loud!....lol

IMO, the dual/dual is still quiet on a H/C car with LTs. I would stick with the Borla. Take the plates out completely, that should open it up a little. Once you get LTs and ORY, it will really waken up.
I have a 2OTL, tried a dual/dual, and could harly hear my cam. Went back to the 2OTL and never happier. The Borla is a nice quality piece, with the right supporting mods, it will sound great.

thats actually what drew me to the borla. I heard a ZEUS Performance car a few years ago (like 4 or 5) at a car show and it had a wide open borla and after that I was HOOKED. So i bought a 4th gen quad intercooled tipped borla actually from here.. and it fit perfect on my 3rd gen. no modifications or anything...LOL i was in heaven!
now ive got it on my LS1 TA

I need some kind of muffler that i can put on the end of the Y-pipe from my iroc..im guessing a single bullet or something? will it sound like ****? I need something to quite it down. Right now its just the Y and way to loud to sell the car.
and i may sell the dual dual...which right now im trying to install it on the camaro.
