Default How to tell between LM1 &2

I know I have an SLP setup of some sorts. But not sure which it is..any easy way to tell? The salesman said he thought the previous owner said it was an LM1 but I'm not sure. Any real easy ways to tell?

Thanks guys.

Depends on what dies when you drive by; if squirrels fall out of trees when you drive by you have a LM2. If you can down the freeway and kill deer on the side of the road you have a LM1. lol I have a lm1 now I'm gonna make quieter or take off for a dual/dual soon.

Isn't there a part # on the muffler or something? Very similar exhausts indeed though.. ^

I'm sure you would be able to knock on it and if it sounds hollow then its probably a LM1

Look through the muffler....if it is hollow it is an LM1, if it has perforated walls, it is an LM2.

no part # on the muffler, if it's absolutely ear drum shattering it's probably a lm1 lm2 isnt as loud but still loud

Most of the LM1/LM2 exhausts have the same muffler dimensions. To know for sure you have to look through the muffler to see if it has any baffling.

Easiest way of telling without tearing it apart (and yes i do know from experience, cause i've had both) is the actual tone. The lm1 has more of a straight pipe cackle to it through the rpm range and will pop and backfire like crazy if you let off the gas at higher rpm, where the lm2 is more bass heavy and alot more controlled as far as the extra "noise" from the packing and baffles. If your car sounds more straight piped and cackles alot, you got the lm1.
