Default y pipe question

so i got my hooker y pipe today with my hooker headers and they are BOTH slip fit...my question is i went to see if it would fit and i couldnt slide it on my self. there are slits in the y pipe and it does look flared out. Will it work?. is there something special to get it to slide on?

the ends of the y-pipe that slips over the collectors need to be expanded. That T-pipe is gonna lead to a lot of rasp.

^^^This. The short pipe goes on the driver's side collector. It will become obvious when you go to put it on.
