Corsa's to loud!
My current exhaust setup is to loud IMO for DD so I'm looking to change it up a little bit. The current setup is Hooker LT's, TSP catted y and a Corsa cat back. I went from no cats to cats and its still to loud. The rasp is gone and I'm happy about that but now I want it a little more quiet. Basically I was thinking of having a bullet muffler welded in the I pipe or swapping out the muffler for a Magnaflow. Will the Magnaflow be a direct bolt in or will the I pipe need to be modified to make it work? Has anyone ever done either of these?

I just went through this. I ended up buying a powerstick chambered muffler (20" I think) I have long tubes through a Borla. Got it welded in just after the merge into the I pipe. Significantly quieter and improved sound as well. Nice thing with the Borla now I can still make it loud when I want too.

my setup was "too loud" also. i originally had LT's, ORY, and magnaflow. it was too loud and i didn't want the extra attention especially considering where i live. so i installed a SLP dual-dual muffler(stock on SS with cme i believe) and now you can't even tell i have LT's or a cam i agree with everyone else don't cut up the corsa! if you look up username norcalls1 on youtube there should be 2 videos on there with track passes with the setup i'm talking about and you can hear that it's pretty quiet. also a video on there with the cutout open. the difference is night and day! hope this helps.

The exhaust was on the car when I bought it so I have no Idea how old it is. Just out of curiosity I checked with Corsa and they want around $350 for a replacement muffler. A Magnaflow is about $100 but the outlets are only 2.5in so I would lose my pro series tips.

I went out to have a look at the exhaust system and noticed that the I pipe is welded to the Y pipe and there is a dent in the muffler. I guess I will have to shell out the cash for the replacement muffler and cross my fingers.

Guy down the street has an '02 WS6.
He runs Borla Pro XS Mufflers ( Custom Catback - 3" Tips ) with LT's and a Catted Y.
Sounds good, and considerably quieter than my SS.
Good luck.
