These just came in the mail today. I was really impressed with the quality of the entire package. The welds on the headers were smooth to the touch and the flanges looked NASA-grade flat. The TSP/FM merge clone could have doubled as a wind tunnel it was so big and smooth inside. I'll be having someone else install these so I'll let you know what a professional thinks of them after I get it done.

Where did you get that y-pipe with the fm merge? I looked on the website and the y-pipe there is different.

how big is the merge before it necks down to 2.75"? It looks bigger than 3"

I honestly couldn't tell you, but I can measure it when I take it back out. I boxed it up and put it in my shed because we're having some work done to the house so I'm not able to easily get to it right now. I'm going to pull it back out to let my girlfriend practice mocking it up just to see how it goes together and I can do measurements then if anybody has any other requests.

I'm trying to keep it as stock looking as possible so I'm just leaving the factory catback on for now. I love the tucked rectangle tips. What are you running on your setup?

I've got a magnaflow cat back on mine, but I dislike the monster 3.5" tips. I'm looking to get rid of those things and tuck up some turn downs. Wish the car had the stock exhaust when I bought it, I woulda reused the rectangle tips too!

If you're going to keep the stock cat back, you should look at throwing an electric cut out in the I-Pipe for some fun when you do the install. I wish I did, and I will probably this summer.

I'm glad you reminded me of E-cutouts. Do it right and do it once. I think I have some switch blanks on the dash, too. w00t.

As to the 3.5" tips, I like the monster round tips with the rolled edges like you see on the CTS-V's so long as they're tucked up. I just can't stand tips which come all the way out to the bumper on a Camaro. I'll leave that to the Firebirds.

I was under the assumption painted headers were black. Those appear to be ceramic coated. I have heard that it is a good idea to put some type of flammable liquid like alcohol in each of the primaries and set it on fire to burn off any residual oils that could contaminate your 02 sensors prematurely.

Yeah it is a bitch putting a tsp y pipe on lol,took me longer to get that right than the headers installed,lol,the good thing about tsps y pipes is there merges,

I wondered this myself, wysemunky. The part number is for "Uncoated" or "Painted" headers depending on where you look and when I test-fitted them the Y made marks on the collectors and it didn't look like there was a coating on them. I thought they were just polished bare steel. Is there a good way to check? If they are ceramic I would rather send them back and get painted ones. I've been told moisture collects under the ceramic coating and rusts the headers through instead of the simple surface rust of painted headers.

I won't be putting any of this on, myself. This will be somebody else's headache along with motor / tranny mounts. I'm going to have them weld in a 3rd O2 bung on the Y-pipe for a wide-band for tuning, etc. and a cutout now that dannyo210 brought it up.

Edit: I posted a picture of the part # plate that is tack-welded to the first driver side primary.

Those are the ceramic coated headers. I have the same headers and ORY.

Well... If that's the case, is there any way to seal them up or remove the coating so that they won't rust out? What an unfortunate turn of events.

It looks like TSP and Pacesetter are both closed for the weekends. I'll shoot them a call on Monday before I actually do anything.

Yeah, they look coated to me.

I would keep them if I were you. Especially, if they charged you price of painted headers.

I like the coating cuz it insulates the heat. Less likely to burn stuff like wires and starter
