Default Ebay water pumps?

I see at Autozone a new LS1 water pump is about 165. The new Delco part is about 175.

I'm finding them on Ebay, supposedly new, for as low as 60 bucks.

http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories

Any reason that I shouldn't go with one of these pumps over the Autozone or GM pump?

I'm always on a budget and want to save money wherever I can, but I'm not wanting to put a POS part on the car that's going to need replacing after a year either.

careful when you're searching for "LS1"; that's also the name of a Saturn vehicle. Some sellers might not be specific enough....

Yeah, I've noticed that. It's actually "SL1 / SL2", but yeah, alot of sellers transpose them and call them LS1 parts. Same thing on CL.

they actually had both, the "S" series (SC/SL/SW) were made from 91-02, where the "L" series (LS/LW) were from 00-05. A little confusing sometimes, especially when you're a parts guy and your customer just says "its a saturn"

your always taking a risk buying parts on flebay. if you can get a genuine GM part then your better off, but i think its too risky especially with something that plays a major roll in keeping the engine cool, and is a PITA to swap out. I have a real water pump for sale just look for the threads ive posted, if you cant find a good one on flebay.

Oh that's right, I forgot about those. The were the "big" ones.

My sister had a SL2, so that's what always pops into my head when I think of Saturns.

I think I'm either going to go GM from ebay, or get the autozone pump. Even though some of the cheaper pumps say "lifetime warranty", I'd rather not have to take the chance and have to replace it in a year, and then deal with shipping it back to wherever and then waiting for the replacement to come in.

Check on Rockauto.com yet?

Also you can probably find a $40-50 off coupon online for advance auto, do online order with in store pick up.

Oh good tip on the coupon...thanks!

I checked Rockauto...I don't remember their prices offhand, but I don't rmemeber being blown away by them, soI don't think they were that cheap.

I notice they're hit or miss sometimes when it comes to prices, sometimes stuff is cheaper locally, other times they're cheaper, but adding shipping makes them more expensive.

I'll have to check it out again.

I was wanting a new one, not a reman, so maybe that's why I wasn't impressed with the prices there.

Yup, just checked the site, it's on sale for 125...new w/lifetime warranty. Works for me!

And the new thermo w/housing is 20 bucks at Autozone. It's very convenient that my local Advance and Autozone are right across the street from each other, haha.

I like auto zone for a lot of stock parts. Can't beat lifetime warranty but rock auto has some great prices too.

Ended up going with the one from Advance. On sale for $125, plus I found a coupon code for 35 bucks off. Came out to 95 bucks inc. tax. Store pickup too, so I don't have to wait for shipping.

Thanks again Thunderstruck for the tip on the coupon code. I never would have thought to look for one for Advance, although I've used them on RockAuto.

I would have bought an Airtex one from Rockautoparts but that's just me. Airtex is great quality and is only $96.
