I modified the scoop on my SSRA.
Check out this youtube video.

I modified the scoop on the SSRA. I cut the back side and installed a spring on it. I broke the car out of storage, taped a video camera to the bumper and made a video. I did this back in February, as you can see by the snow on the ground. In the video I honked at 10 mph intervals. By around 40 mph it's fully open. The top speed I got to was 60 mph. It seems to have worked pretty good. As you can see it's fully shut a slow speeds, which is good for parking.
Also, from the video you can really see how much air is getting into the regular scoop on the SSRA.
I've been very busy with work so I haven't tried it since the video was made. I'm going to try it on the highway to see if it holds together at higher speeds today.

Good idea, also. Wondering if you throw the bolt back in and double nut it to keep it from opening too far, but still able to open/close. I'd just be worried about it catching something on the ground and fukin the front end up.

I went and drove the car for an hour or so. I did a few pulls up to 100+ and held it there for a few seconds. All went well. I'd stop and check it every so often expecting the worst, but everything was good.

It seems like a good idea but i wonder because look at around 2.30's and it is opened up. I think since it opens up that far it might not actually help a ram air effect because the air pressure instead of going up and into the intake is pushing the intake back and may be limiting air flow up into the intake. To me at least i think you should limit how far it can open even more because that a pretty extreme angle for air to go up, if you know what i mean. Cool video though def good view on it.

I just got the mega mouth and i am pleased with the product. install went very smooth, but the rain block is a joke. I seriously laughed at it. I'm assuming it is for insurance reasons for the stupid people who drive through lakes.

I got the idea from a guy that has the regular SSRA. It's cheap, and should be effective. To design something else would raise the price. Hell, if you want you can throw a piece of cardboard under the filter where the Mega Mouth feeds into the air filter system.
