Default Exhaust Merge questions

Im going to be installing L/T with a 3" collector. I plan on using the flow master y-pipe. The questions is, should i run a 4" pipe after the Y or can i just leave my 3" pipe alone. Just wondering if this will cause a restriction.

I didn't know flowmaster made a y pipe, are you talking about a flowmaster merge?do you have a 4 inch catback, what cat back do you have?if its a 3 inch catback there is no point to have a 3 inch into a 4 inch back to a 3,just seems like that would be a pain in the ***
