Default cant get passenger exhaust manifold off

Trying to install my headers on a 2000 ss and got the driver side out and put the header in. The passenger side was completely different with tons of **** in the way. I've heard I need to take the dipstick out. How does it come out? Also I want to delete my egr and my headers came with a block off plate... can I just block it off and remove it? And lastly I can't seem to get to the lower bolt holding the damn egr on the manifold... is there a trick? I wanted to load my car full of shotgn slugs last night... and lastly and last minute advice? Thanks.

The oil dipstick has a 15mm bolt holding it to the head. It should be right in the middle of the exhaust manifold, take it out and pull up on the dipstick. Crawl under the car first and see how its routed in the there becasue it a pita to put back in. When I did headers on my car, I had to take the pass side heat sheilds off the floor pan.
To get the bolt off the egr, you may have to use a wrench or a ratchet wrench would be better if you have one. Once you get the egr off, you can use your block off plates for your headers

remove the coilpack brackets and the plugs, should be plenty of room, what brand headers you got? Bottom egr bolt is tricky, I think I barely got it loose and removed it by hand. Delete the air and egr if you can. Get a rubber freeze plug from parts store to block the hole in the ls1 mani too. It would be to our advantage to pick up an ls6 intake soon, with headers and a frost tune its a nice gain.

You're going to get an SES light from the headers, so you may as well take out the AIR/EGR.

Oh, I thought they were lt's. I cant speak from experience but have heard and read in numerous mag articles that lt's or nothing is practically a way of life in the ls world.

That's a huge myth they both have advantages and disadvantages. Shortys are better for lower rpms

I can see how on the 2000 F-bodies the EGR would be a @#$%& to get to. It being mounted below the passenger manifold. Glad you finally go to it. You'll be glad your perseverance paid off when you get to drive your ride once the installation is complete.
