Default Bolt on ls1 fuel mileage

So a buddy and I are having a little discussion about fuel mileage on a bolt on ls1 car.. Basic stuff, headers full exhaust, cai, gear(not a big stupid gear, just a 3.73)...
I think If you are driving it nicely you should be able to get 20 around town, he thinks 15mpg max..
What say the people of ls1tech.

My car gets 21-23 MPG depending on what time of the year it is, mostly highway. Most cars like mine seem to get better than that. Oh well.

You're auto and you have 214,000 miles. I'd say your mileage is pretty good.

I checked mine this morning. Driving spirited quite a bit, I got 20.4 mpg. Tunes work wonders. I'm camming it in a few weeks; I hope it stays decent.

That's what I'm looking for.. I wanna just have a full bolt on car, with suspension and a 12 bolt.. Then do an FLT stage 4 4l60e with a tight lock up yank converter.. Should be able to get great mileage and still run 12.0's..

I average about 28-30mpg depending on conditions. Full bolt on and a tune. (minus UD pulley)
