Default mufflex or gmmg

im building a 383 ls and wanted to know which one sounds better?
I am goin with qtp lt's and flowmaster ory. Which exhaust has that OMG what is in that car effect?
I would go with the 4" mufflex exhaust.

its all up to your opinion, you really need to listen to both. Lots of people go crazy over the gmmg and lots of people really like the 4" mufflex also but it is more rare.

Search for clips on youtube, ls1sounds.com, and google. Also do a search on here and you should be able to come up with info on both. I would pick the 4" mufflex because of how deep it is.

always loved the GMMG...with LT's and ORy it can be a little annoying ...but I still like it.

my buddy had a gmmg , well still does , stock manifolds and y pipe with the gmmg , loved it . Then he got lt headers and a catted y pipe . Too damn loud and hates it . So he had the i pipe taken out and a new one with a glasspack style muffler put in an like it now . But the gmmg will get loud as hell . He also has an auto so he cant control the rpms as much as us stick guys .

GMMG will rasp alot with an ORY. Any catback will for that matter. I had GMMG/stock manifolds/cats and it was great. Then GMMG/Kooks/Kooks Catted Y and it was pure sex. Added H/C/I and then it was just ***** loud. It lost the deep bass sound it had with LTs/Catted Y/GMMG. I needed a clutch bad so I sold the GMMG for clutch money and put duals dumped on.

I guess it comes down to what kind of "OMG what is in that car effect" you looking for. Loud and noisy or loud and deep and what combo will get you there. I don't think any ORY/Catback will get you the deep bassy sound, but it will be loud.

What muffler are you thinking about going with, they have spintech, flowmaster and magnaflow, check out the vids of my magnaflow. It actually really quite in the car when cruising. Its pretty quite until you get on it.

I have the spintech four inch single on the left system...its reasonable at idle but sounds more like a bbc at wot than it does an ls1...I highly recommend it!
