I would love to know the same, I recently started using my Camaro as a DD on a 1hr and 45min commute, and my exhaust is loud as fawk.

The Multicore is quieter but flows better. I had the 40085 3" round Xr-1s on my 05 GTO (check YouTube 05 GTO borla Multicore) and it sounded bad *** but was really loud with Shorties/catless so I put bullets in the cats location and it was damn near perfect. My buddy put 2.5" Multicores on his 06 Maggie GTO Shorties/cat less and I thought it sounded perfect, but he didn't think it was loud enough. No rasp and very mellow inside the cabin. Awesome from outside tho, kinda of like a Maserati Quattroporte .The funny thing is it seemed to quiet down or maybe level out as revs increased. It sounded powerful but not overly loud. He ended up switching to 12" XR-1 ovals which are a good deal louder. My opinion is if you want a clean powerful sound with no rasp go with Multicores, if you like a louder attention getting sound that is pretty bad *** ,better then most other common mufflers, get any of the XR-1s!

Thanks so much for the advice! I think i'll go with the 40085, just because i'm only trying to tone down the exhuast enough to participate in autocross events, but love the loud exhaust haha. I have LT's, no cats, and SLP LM1, so anything will be quieter haha.

A XR-1 will def be very loud with that setup but the exhaust you listed is the loudest I have ever heard.

The 3" XR-1 (40085) will be quieter than a LM1 but not necessarily quiet overall. Just food for thought , You might consider putting a couple 2-1/2" 12" XR-1's in the tailpipes like the latest generation LM. Or the Multicore after the overaxle pipe where the Borla catback muffler is placed, so you split the sound. Remember the Multicore is a 2-1/2" muffler. That would give you a mellow/mean part throttle but still rip at WOT!
