Default Side exit exhaust on a 98'

I want to carry over some of the styling off the 2nd gen TA's onto my 98' and was wondering if anyone has ever put side exit exhaust on a newer fbody? Kinda like the 79's where it dumps behind the back wheels. I think it would look pretty neat on a newer fobody, and then maybe fill in the cutouts in the bumper so its nice in clean.
If this has been done before sorry for the question, I searched and didnt find anything. If someone has pics of one could you post them please?

I've come across a few rare pics but cant remember in what section...personally, I thought it looked like *** but its your car, do what makes you happy. I'd say you don't see a lot of it tho for a reason.

I thought it might look neat but kinda back and forth on it. Did the pics have the quad tips, or was it just one pipe out each side?

Thanks for the links. Im not wanting them dumped before the tire. Honestly im with ya on that one, I dont like that at all. If I did it I would dump it behind the back tire just like the 79's with the quad tips.

What would you do with the gaps in the bumper?

Cut pieces off another bumper, Try and mold/fit over the gaps and epoxy it in maybe. Still trying to figure that part out

So basically this is what you're wanting to do?? I just don't know how you can do it to make it flow with the lines of the 4th gen, then filling in the exhaust gaps on the bumper, I think it would look odd with the TA rear bumper being just straight across. I'd almost put a Formula rear bumper on it and save yourself a ton of time and work. Maybe run a set of dual Corsa clone tips angled down on each side???

^^^ Yes, thats exactly what im talking about. I had thought about using a firebird bumper from a v6 since I figured it wouldnt have the duel cut outs in the bumper. Are the bumpers basically the same? I like the idea of using the corsa tips.

I've seen the dual chrome turndowns for far cheaper than the corsa clones... I'd assume once you get the firebird bumper, you can just cut down the exit pipes from your muffler and slip the tips on... should be an easy swap

something like this

Ok.. So I guess there not technically side exhaust since they will still be exiting the rear, but they will still come out the side.
