Default tune prices..

I know the "search button" is right up there, but this is too advanced for search I think. I found a guy literally down the road from me, Dale at Tach It Up Motorsports and he does a lot of LSX work. He does street tuning for $200 and dyno for $400, I am opting for the street since I've got nothing major like F.I. or any cam swap. I know a lot of guys that offer tuning will retune after you get a cam install for next to nothing..like $50 maybe. Just seems too scary to me to ship off my ECM and have my car off its feet for a few days since its my current DD.
So before we get into a "well mail-orders are ok bc the guys are vets..etc...etc.."
I'm just trying to get a good idea if this is a fair price for a street tune?

Well I'm thinking I'll opt for the Dyno Tune over the winter or around a year from now after a heads and possible cam swap. Still need to buy a helmet to drag, pay off the attorney, ticket, etc. etc. If I had the extra $200 laying around for a dyno tune I'd love to do it lol

Do you only have a lid and catback? I wouldn't even think of spending the money on a tune if that's all you have.

I waited for maybe 14 months before my tune with full exhaust. WELL WORTH IT! I caught hell from the wifey, but knowing what numbers are hitting the pavement is worth 2 weeks in the dog house.

Well the only reason I'm considering it is I've got a funky idle at times and the engine feels like it's holding itself back at times, which all my searching has led me to the MAF which the previous owner swapped to a delphi 80MM, and from what I have seen/ been told most peple say a tune after that is almost a must..My current mods should be in my sig, but ive got a catback, lid, maf, bellows, and soon L/T's and an ORY
