Default SLP header redesign

I have a quick question about the SLP tuned length headers. When they "fixed the ground clearance issue" did they just release a new style header in addition to the tuned length?

This is what it says on their site about their non-tuned length headers:
Re-design allows for over 2" inches of ground clearance (over our tuned length design).

From that description it sounds like the tuned lengths are still the same design with crappy ground clearance?

I have tuned length hooker headers with a custom true dual set up and I have better ground clearance now than I did back when I had stock manifolds and a slp ory. The ory hung way lowwer than my current set up. Anyway, I like the hooker headers alot. awesome ground clearance.

If you're gonna spend that much on headers, go with Kooks or American Racing Headers, no question.

True. For less than $1000 I got my entire exhaust- headers, flowmasters, x-pipe etc.

Does hooker have stainless headers? I want to go with a tuned length to add some low range power but also want a stainless header. I also can't find anywhere that sells SLP headers separate from their y-pipe. Thanks for the replies although none of you seemed to answer my questions hehe.

It might be a good idea to call SLP about that. I have a set of SLP LT's on my car since 2002 . They went on 3 weeks after I bought the car new back then. The ground clearence does suck ,but I don't drive my car over speed bumps everyday either. If they did change the design , I don't think you can go wrong with the LT tuned headers and y-pipe set. The quality is there and the performance also. But the are other brands of LT's that the guys stated above that will perform just as good and have better ground clearence and will cost you less money.

I would add Dynatech to that list also. Pricey, but extremely high quality.

Did your headers come with the Air/Egr built in? I'm not gonna be running either so I wanna pick up a header w/o those provisions.

Mine do have egr & air, however hooker does sell them without I do believe. If not, block off plates are very cheap but for appearance reasons I could certianly see not wanting the provisions for them.
