Stripped Starter bolt threads...What to do??

Stripped Starter bolt threads...What to do?? I found that both my LS1 starter bolt threads were stripped from the previous owner while changing out my starter (now I see why I had grinding issues). I'm thinking that drilling and tapping or helicoil are my only options, but can it be done with the engine still in the car? Any other suggestions?
