Default Don't do my mistake .. go with 1 7/8" LT all day (+28 rwhp / +24 rwtq )

Hi guys

I know you have asked and read about 1 3/4" vs 1 7/8", absolutely you have seen people say go with 1 3/4" and some 1 7/8" ! .. Also some claim that the 1 7/8" headers will lower your torque !

I was having Pacesetter 1 3/4" LTs with their Y-Pipe for years, I dyno'd my H/C 346 with them and the result was 407 rwhp / 387 rwtq

Decided to try the TSP 1 7/8" headers with their nice merge O/R Y-Pipe and the result was 435 rwhp / 411 rwtq ..

So that's 28 rwhp & 24 rwtq more ! .. my tuner will send me the dyno graph by tomorrow

this is some nice gain but i dont think its all for the primaries. merge will help too but 20+ for the primaries seem alot to me. but thats awesome

Yes same dyno, a week difference between each run ..

I know the gain is high from headers and Y-Pipe and you may not see it as high as this with bolt-ons car , but H/C cars with bigger intake and compression around 11:4 will shine the result more and more

Id also like to see the dyno graphs between the 2. I'm running Pacesetters with a Texas Speed YPipe right now.

I would love to have seen a dyno between the two headers with the tsp pipe already on as I already have the y pipe but still have the 1 3/4 headers still. Good info either way though.

That is a big gain considering you already had LT's on the car. Please post that dyno graph.

Very nice. I have 1 3/4" now but am waiting for some heads, intake, then headers. All on a new block.

In for the graph. 1 7/8 headers are a no brainer. The stock LS1 head flow great for a factory head compared to a sbc or anything form the dino age. The flow enough for the larger primarys to be beneifical.

Was your old set-up catted or also ORY? I am thinking most of your gain came from the y-pipe change, but not to say the headers didnt pick you up power too. If I ran a heads/cam car id also push for the 1 7/8 but till then i think my 1 3/4 are solid.

Quick Reply: Don't do my mistake .. go with 1 7/8" LT all day (+28 rwhp / +24 rwtq )
