Default Headers & Y-Pipe...decisions decisions.....

I didn't want to hyjack another thread so I'll start a new one. I have searched.....

I'm soon gonna be on the market for headers and catted Y-Pipe. My requirements are:

Headers:

-Stainless steel;
-No EGR or A.I.R fittings;
-1-7/8 inch OR 1-3/4 to 1-7/8 primaries.

Y-Pipe:

-Stainless steel;
-High flow cats;
-Flowmaster style merge;
-3 inch outlet;
-Good ground clearance.

Most header companies do not have more than 1-3/4 inch primaries. The only company I found with the Flowmaster Y-Pipe merge is QTP. They don't have larger headers, don't have any headers available until September and a search results in reports of poor ground clearance.

Of course, Kooks and American Racing Headers have the headers but lousy Y-Pipe merges.

Any ideas?

Kooks or ARH headers then a custom ypipe will probably be your best bet.

Thanks HVYMTL but the only TSP exhaust stuff they have is two Y-Pipes, neither is stainless.

I'm thinking I'm gonna end up with American Racing Headers & Y-Pipe. I'll go and visit them, they're not too too far from me.

Note to self: DON'T wear the Kooks shirt when visiting ARH.

Our new 1 7/8" headers and 3" off-road y-pipes will both be in stainless on our next run. Should be here in hopefully late this month!

Hey Jon hows pricing gonna be compared to the other Stainless options, it would be nice to see a reputable shop knee cap Kooks & QTP cause there is no reason for a set of LT's to cost $1k+

My Pacesetters are lookin sad so I was thinking about goin with the Chrome BBK's for the price & included y-pipe. Hopefully the chrome will last longer than the coating on the Pacesetters.

If thats true I'll hold out for a set of those & skip the BBK's. Only reason I havent bought stainless LT's as of yet is price, I"m not gonna spend what Kooks & QTP want for a set. I work in fabrication & they dont have much in materials or welding time on those. Pricing them around $500 with get a ton of sales & cover the fab costs easily.

Yeah we are hoping the header and y-pipe pricing will not change. I won't know for sure until they get here but that's the plan!

I love the tsp 1 7/8 headers. I have them on my car and the install was simple and for the price you cant beat it for a 1 7/8 header. The y pipe was a real pita though
