It's hard to tell what kind of gains would be had being we don't know your current set up?? Bolt on only? Cam only? H/C?

I made the switch to a GM 85mm MAF & Fast Toys 98mm lid after my EPS cam swap and only picked up a couple HP at the rear.

Yes it will. But keep in mind some tuners claim the bigger 85MM pegs out sooner if you decide to go crazy with power beyond 500 at the wheels

You will need a tune with it, so don't worry about an 85mm MAF until you get a bunch of mods together to make the tune worth it... I've had tuners tell me they won't tune it with the 85mm, only a stock one.

I would look into upgrading your LS6 intake to maybe a Fast 90/92. The gains would be pretty good since you have heads & cam.

I agree with all of you. Wait until the meter becomes the last restriction in the air tract before replacing it. Your money will be better spent elsewhere. I'm putting down over 480hp @ the tires & still have a stock unit.

Really? Cause I know a few tuners that would throw a ported stock MAF at your head. Just search on this site for ported MAF's and grenaded transmissions. Ported MAF's and after market MAF housings are always a bad idea.

Been running an 85MM descreened GM LS6 MAF since '02. The important thing with a MAF is not to bolt it on and go, but to get a tune right after install. I would stick with a GM MAF if you want to go larger as you can be confident it has been properly calibrated to factory specifications. I would be less confident in the aftermarket companies (like Granatelli) and agree that messing around with ends and porting the stock MAF is asking for problems. There are some gains to be had with a larger MAF as it is less of a flow restriction, however since it's role in metering air is critical you need to do it the right way.
