D you guys install pacesetter off road longtubes from the bottom of the car? I have the drivers side so close to going when I try to come from the top. Any tips?

Usually one side goes in from the bottom and the other goes in from the top, of coarse thats my experience. What is it snagging on? I know I had to take my steering knuckle, thinks thats what its called, out to get the drivers side in.

I put mine in from the top. Had to raise the front end a bit for clearance, but they went right in. You are most likely hanging up on the steering shaft on the driver side. Take out the two 10 mm bolts (might be 12, I can't remember), and then go down to where the steering rack and steering shaft spline up. Take a large flat head driver, and pry up. Wiggling the shaft with your other hand at the same time will help. Once that's out of the way, your header should drop right in. Don't hit your plugs though. Worked for me countless times. Hope this helps man!

I already pulled the column back a bit and separated the steering knuckle. I'm hitting on the firewall in the back as well as the motor mount bracket.

Ya i changed it up and went from the bottom. Didn't have an issue at all. Now I am trying to find out why my lights are flashing and the car wont start after I hooked the battery up.

Got everything installed back to the y pipe. I have to do some more work to make up the distance between the end of the y pipe, the slp resonator and my tail pipe section. As of right now my y pipe is hitting the floor at idle.

The driver's side header is always a biotch! And the y pipe always hits the floor. I think some people beat the crap out of the y pipe before they install it to help clear the floor.

Is it the pacesetter y pipe that always hits? I may buy a Texas Speed y pipe to get a better merge. I wonder how that clears on the drivers side.

Glad it worked out for you. The DS is always a pain like everyone else said. I have a TSP Y pipe and it hit the floor as well. I had a local welder do some adjusting, and he welded it up with no issues anymore. He added a piece of piping to get the clearance he needed.

I placed a piece of rubber bushing between the drivers side pipe and floor and it works great so far.

I have had 4 firebirds and all the y pipes rub. It's not just the pacesetter. I even have a texas speed on my current 99 trans am. Still rubs. You just need to put some wrapping or rubber or whatever between the pipe and the floor. Looks like you did put something in between from what your post says.

This works too.lol.
If you're willing to pay someone to do it. I know most people prefer the free stuff.
