Default What diameter/length muffler for dump?

I'm looking to shed some weight by getting rid of my heavy cat-back. Thinking about a single Magnaflow bullet style muffler right after my pacesetter y-pipe. I'm about to pull the trigger on a muffler today, but need some quick info.

Is the Magnaflow one of the quieter mufflers?
What diameter can I fit with a 3.5 driveshaft next to it?
And there are a few different length options is 18 too long or short?

Magnaflow #14419 (3" in/out,4" dia. case, w/14" case length) should fit with out any problems, it did for me.

Thanks for the info. Is the sound bearable at cruising speeds?
