Default Custom ORY

I just ordered some Pacesetter long tube race version headers and will be installing them myself when they arrive. I also ordered a flowmaster 3" to 4" merge.

I went to a local exhaust shop to see how much it would cost to get a custom ory made using the FM merge I am providing, and then attached to the headers and my SLP catback. The guy said it'll cost $250-$300. Does this sound about right, or a little pricey? Should I just buy an ORY off the internet and mate it up to the FM merge myself? Thanks in advance all!

I wouldn't pay that much for crush bent piping. You can get a TSP ORY for about $120. It's 3", mandrel bent, and has a nice 3.5" merge. It takes some time to get the fitments just right since it comes in so many pieces. I also had the 2.75" outlet adapter cut off. I would recommend having the car on a lift for the install.

that is over priced imo. as deviant said a ready made ory is around 120$ and it takes a little work to get the FM merge to fit there.

Ya i thought it was a little pricey as well. Is there a certain pre-made ORY that will make my life easier getting it attached to my flowmaster merge?

Is there a certain place to buy the Pacesetter specific TSP ORY? Such as Texas Speed Performance website?

I have the TSP ORYP and to my knowledge there isnt any header specific design... Mine fit good with hooker lt's that are the same as the pacesetters that the ORYP was designed to fit.

Ya I didn't think there was either...

I have another question. What is the best way to attach the headers to the y pipe? I don't want to weld them together cause that would be a pain in the *** if I ever need to take off my headers. The headers are slip fit, so would it be a good idea to weld on 3 bolt flanges to the headers, and do the same for the y pipe?

I am currently considering welding some kind of flanges on my pacesetter/TSP ory set up. The slip fit connections with band clamps suck ***. They leak like crazy and it makes it a bitch to drop the Y pipe. If I were you I'd at least consider flanges. Even the BBK long tubes have ball and cup flanges.

I would pay that much. If he's using mandrel bends and does good work, that doesn't seem too out of the ordinary. It's a decent amount of work.
