Default bbk y pipe

others who have the bbk header/ypipe setup, what did you do about bolting the merge to the i pipe. they are the same size so before i buy anything else i thought i'd ask

I also had the same problem, so I just welded the pipes together. It was fun driving the car to the muffler shop without being connected to the muffler sounded mean as hell but too loud for my tastes.

i started it last night the way it is and it was WAY loud so im just trying to figure out how im going to connect the pipes

I just bought a heavy-duty stainless steel 3" band clamp at the semi parts store and butted the two pipes together. It's not a permanent fix, but it's ok for now, and I'm going to install a cutout there in a couple weeks anyway. Just make sure you get the clamp good and tight. If you end up having a small exhaust leak there, you can always slit a soda can in half and put it between the pipes and clamp. Mine was fine, but I can't say for sure on yours lol.

i wouldnt weld them because if you ever need to take the y pipe offf you would have to cut it. I used the band clamp as mentioned before and it has worked great for 2 years now so i'd go with that

i got an adapter made at the local exhaust shop. cut and welded the ypipe and everything is good.
