Default Worth buying 92 fast intake

Is it worth upgrading to it? I plan on doing heads/ cam in the future anyways. Right now just have my 2002 trans am with the WS6 package with ARH headers and ory pipe and magnaflow exhaust.

sure its worth it if you can find one for a good price. is it necessary for your combo? not really. the LS6 intake is pretty good. if you were to switch to a fast right now dont expect to much of a gain. do it after you H/C swap. instead pick up an underdrive pulley and maybe have your throttle body ported. with what your mods are now you will see more of a gain with those two things

That's good info. I just got a 2002 Z28 with LQ9 block. I just purchased the zooks 1-7/8" headers, ORY and magnaflow catback and was looking at my next steps to upgrades. I gues I will look at the cam / heads package next, then fast intake. Again,.......... good info!

I would wait till after or during the H/C install, thats when it will really shine. Don't forget the bigger Lid and MAF or SD tune to go along with it. Porting them helps a lot too.

A brand new in the box 92/92 just came up in the classifides for $1200.00

Porting the throttle body helps for airflow, underdrive pulley, ASP and SLP are pretty good ones for the price 200ish, If you wanna go with a better one, ATI Damper 400ish. Also need to get new belts with it.

I think most ppl see about a 20hp increase on average. Would be a worthy improvement, but it would be most noticeable on a modded engine.

yea that guy is asking wayyyy too much... I bought mine brand new for $700 shipped on here.. hold off for awhile if you can and a good deal with come along just keep ur eye out.. Stay away from Fast TB's they have sticking issues more so with the 90mm than the 92mm tho. Nick Williams gets my vote for TBs.

Prices are trending up. One sold on here for over 1k for just the 92mm intake unported.

i would go with the Powerbond 25% U/D package that SDPC offers. you get the pulley, new belts, and a re-usable crank bolt for 200 dollars. and the Powerbond pulley is the same as SLP

you can buy a brand new fast 102MM at Hinson Motorsports for $800 and get a new LS2 TB for under $300 shipped.

that's because people are dumb enough to pay for it lol.. if you are patient the deals will come.. I waited and waited for mine and saw one pop up and 15 minutes after it was posted I had already sent paypal.. it was ported already also.. there are deals out there just gotta be able to wait but if your in a rush I can understand that too sometimes you just have to ante up

I agree it's definately it's on the high side and there are still deals out there to be had. But people are getting those prices for them and it's still much cheaper than going to a 102 setup. So one could argue that makes the seller dumb for letting them go for too cheap.

yup and then start adding rails, lines, fittings, injectors that fit,ect and the price quickly goes up. that's what makes the 92 a nice deal and the performance is damn close too

^ don't forget a LS2 waterpump if you don't want to cut the stock one running a 102 TB. And if you want a FAST or NW 102mm TB they are closer to $500.
