Default 5.3L Intake question???

Hey guys, just bought a 2002 5.3L out of a Tahoe. I'm planning on keeping the truck intake. Going to do a swap into a 84 C-10. looking for good torque. Using 02 4l60e transmission with 3500 stall.

My question is....Has there ever been a truck intake that is better than another? Or, am I ok just running the 02 intake? Trail blazer stuff any better?

Plans as of now are mild porting on heads. Cam swap to 224/226@.050 or a 232/234@.050 .600 or lower lift with 114LS. stock bottom end new rings and bearings and a tune from someone local, probably PCM's for less out of Moorseville. Truck weighs in @ 4000-4500 full size half ton.

Thanks, just inquiring. Any input would be appreciated. 1st LS engine build.

Trailblazer stuff is better by 10hp or so, same intake is on 2007+ (new body style trucks).

FAST makes a truck intake thats better than both. 102mm LSXRT.

When you say Trailblazer stuff , all 5.3 Trailblazers or Trailblazer SS with LS2

I have no idea, Never looked at a 5.3L Trailblazer. The correct intake is easy to find though. It has a 90mm, 4 bolt, throttle body. And it has a cross ribbing on the top.

Here is the LSXRT (it gained 50hp over the trailblazer SS intake in a recent article, boosted)
