Is my motor fubared please advise
Long Story short I was running through the gears went to grab 4th and hit 2nd she instantly jumped to 6k i dont think it went over what should i look for to be messed up the engine sounds fine the rear doesnt (i'm replacing the diff ne ways
) or did the rev limiter kick in to keep me from screwing it up????? ls1 firebird bolt ons

What speeds were you going when you shifted? Either way, if you were near the top of third and you went to second, your RPMs would've skyrocketed. Unless you immediately hit the clutch when you saw this happen, you probably revved well over 6k.
Pull the valve covers and take a look.
Also, if you're not hearing anything you might be ok. The usual things that can break while overrevving will be audible for sure.

all i hear is the lifters as usual and i did look at the tach i think it flew up to 6k and stayed there before i pushed in the clutch which was like 4-7 seconds after also i have 4.10 gears if that makes ne difference

If you didnt go over 6k youll be fine. Even though there is a rev limiter it wont stop you from mechanically over-revving your engine. If you are going too fast for the gear you put it in, the speed of the tires will rev your engine up no matter where you rev limiter is set.

Did the same thing except third to first at 6500. Didnt hurt the engine, but took out the pinion bearing...
If everything sounds ok, then I would say it's probably fine.
