bbk tb 80mm sticking??
hey guys i have an 80 mm bbk tb and for some reason when the engine warms up the throttle plate sticks! very annoying and i've tried sanding down the edges of the plate a bit but it didnt work and by opening up the idle screw a bit it raises the idle which messes with my tps sensor...kind of in a tough spot need some help. i would hate to have to buy another throttle body. any help is greatly appreciated!

In the early LS days this was a big issue with trucks. A lot of them were replaced at the dealership. The theory at the time was that the blade was cutting into the aluminum TB and causing it to stick.
Might have to pull it off and work it by hand to find where it's binding. Can you loosen the screws and let the blade center itself in the opening?
I would take a Sharpie and mark the area where the blade closes and let it snap shut a few times, that way you should clearly see where the blade meets the housing.

sweet98ss- ya thats the same problem im having. ok so you opened it up a bit with the screw or you mean opened it up by sanding it down some?
i bought it a while back actually off of a forum member. it's been a long build process and just now starting to drive the car.
as for the sharpie idea, i'll definitely do that! thats a great idea

Take it off and get something like a 320 grit sand paper and open the throttle blade and feel around where the blade meets the base for some inperfections and try to clean it up with the sand paper. Just try to clean it up a bit.
