Default Intakes?

What would give better power gains... a Volant cold air for an LS1 or say an SLP air lid?? I'm thinking the volant cold air? If so what would I need to get that installed on an LS1 Z28? Just need a cheap first mod to extract some more horses.

There is alot of sources saying that Volant intakes are not worth the money (no gains over a lid) Others say otherwise.

I personally have an SLP lid and have no problems. Plus i like the protection over the filter. I would play it safe and get a lid

Volant cai works the best with a ws6 hood I now have the volant twin cone cai. I do not think it was worth the extra money. other than looks good it only gave me an additional 4hp over the slp which i had on before. although i have heard other ppl brag and say it was the best mod i say stick with the slp unless you have alot of money to spend..

I don't know anything about the volant but you can't go wrong with the lid. I would go lid.

I have the volant CAI on mine, it is in a box that seals directly to the ram air ports,, there is no way in the world anyone could ever convince me a lid could ever compare with the volant kit. The air comes directly through the ports, into the filters, straight into the engine, No turns or restrictions.

Yup ^^^^ I am no physicist.... but it seems to me that the Volant system is more direct than a lid ****if you have a ram air hood****

A lid coupled with a chrs1313 ram air would make more than a volant.

A lid and the SSRA, or the SSRA Mega Mouth if you don't run your AC condenser.

If I still had the stock core support in my Z28 I would use the chris1313.

I went with K&N FIPK CAI and I also took off The two baffles from the Ram Air, I left the one in the very front so the filter don't get wet when it rains.

Hmm could you get some pics up of your engine bay? I'd love to see how it looks in there.

Righ now I removed the CAI cause im about to do a cam swap, I just removed two of the Plastic baffles with a flathead screwdriver and a hammer, I just hammered the screwdriver to the little nail heads from the ram air till they fell off, But if you search for the jaam but thats only for TA WS6 though. I think for a camaro its better a lid with a K&N Filter.
