Default Exhuast to tame sound of cam/LT/ORY/Straigh Pipes?

I just purchased a '00 WS6 that needs it's exhaust tamed badly. It is an otherwise stock LS1 with a 227/235 .614 .621 113LSA +2 cam, hooker long tubes, and an off road y pipe hooked to what I call straight pipes (a loud mouth 1 system with an electric cutout placed right after the y, where the resonator would have been).

I want to keep the cutout but want the rest of the system to be tolerable when it's closed. Right now it's ridiculously loud and raspy. What can I put in/on this setup to give it a quieter and more tuned sound without all that nasty rasp and drone? I'm wanting to stay in the $500 range, IF possible.

I'm not adverse to cats either, assuming they're high flowing. Can the ory be catted? Or should I just look into replacing the ory with a catted one and selling this one?

Thanks for any help. I really want to drive my new car, but I will get pulled over the moment I pass a cop with this setup.

Start with a SLP PowerFlo conversion kit #31086($300, which adds 2 slp mufflers before each exhaust tip, then if its still a little to loud add a SLP #31067 ($100) muffler in place of the SLP resonator;Total about$430 shipped.

Another less costly option is to buy a Magnaflow#14419(4" dia.$78ea.) and put it in the I-pipe, and outback you can go with 2 Magnaflow #12866 (5" dia. $87ea.), so about $262 shipped.

SLP Powerflos sound so good, I'd go that route.

Will the Powerflos stave off the rasp as well?

After further research and investigation, I'm leaning heavily toward the Magnaflow Cat Back 16723. It seems like it's the closest to providing me the sound I'm looking for. Does anyone have any input or objections?

They say the magnaflows are quiet and so are the hookers which is what I'm running. Magnaflow is stainless I do believe which is a plus but the hooker on my car is very tame with my MS4.
