Default Kooks 6501RHS driver side intall help!

I have been working on trying to get the drivers side header installed on my 01 TA for the last 3 hours. After getting the car high enough in the air the passanger side slide right in. But the drivers side will not go. this car had some headman headers that came right out and I have taken the oil filter off. but it seem like the 2nd primary tube from the front of the headers goes inward towards the motor so far that i have no room between the k-member and the motor to get it in. I have searched everywhere on here but haven't seen where anyone has had a similar problem. Just wondering if anyone has run into this before. I'm to the point of taking the motor mount loose and seeing if I can get the motor up high enough to get it in. FYI- car has a stock k-member.

after going out and cutting the lip off the k-member mount which gave a little more room. I'm thinking I may possibley have the wrong drivers side header. it was tagged correctly but I do not see this going where it needs to go.

Thats very odd - every set of Kooks or ARs Ive installed slid right in, no need to remove anything, 5min per side...

Thats what I have read. no one seems to have a problem. thats why I'm wondering if I got 1 wrong header. Even though all the pics I have seen look identical to the one I have. maybe something stupid I'm not seeing. May try again tomorrow.

yeah I have the steering shaft unhooked from pulling out the old headers. but the new one isn't going in far enough to even touch the shaft yet.

Maybe they are stock with 70K miles on them. I'm going to go ahead and order a set just to eliminate that. I'm starting to miss my old car that had a K-member in it.LOL
