Depends.. some coils have different mounting bolt spacing.. some need the correct harness with the plugs that work for the coil itself.. all LS coil harness utilize the same main pack connector that connects to the PCM harness near the fuel rails though.

For example, I had LS1 coils on my car. I just bought part #12611424, which appear on C6's, 2010+ Camaro's, LSA engines etc. I had to get the harnesses to go with since my LS1 coil plug harness wouldn't plug into the coils.

Most people doing the upgrade to truck coils have seen some improvement. In my case, I had a power increase as shown in back to back dyno tests. Even if HP & torque don't go up, engine response improves.

Even if no power increase is documented, the engine will more often than not run better.

I do believe the more other improvements done to the engine, the better the coil upgrade improvements will be.

And to clarify on connectors...the connector at the coil has the only difference? The big connector by fuel rail is the same on all LS stuff?

As far as connectors are concerned, yes, the engine harness to coil harness connector is the same regardless of which coil harness you choose. The coil end plug is different. There's LS1/6 style and then there's LS2/3/5/7 and all the truck motors.

Ok, so key to running is having matching harness (4-1 harness).

Thanks, will purchase coils!

I don't see the advantage to using the LS9 VC. On a 4th gen, pulling the coil packs as one unit makes spark plugs worlds easier.
