Default BBK Headers

I was just given these for Christmas but I noticed something weird. Why are there 4 O2 sensor bungs? Will I need 4 O2 extenders now?

No just 2, you'll have to tune out the AIR and rear O2s. I have these headers on my TA and they fit like a glove.

your car already has 4 o2 sensors there are 2 in the collectors of the headers which are needed for the car to run and control fueling and the other two you see are in the y pipe which are just there for emissions and when you install the headers just plug them and tune the rear sensors out

Thanks guys, just seemed silly to me that I should plug the back sensors in when they will be tuned out. Should be on next week, with hopefully a video to come soon after

The only reason you would do this is if you care about passing the visual emissions test. Just tune them out and plug them in. Doesn't effect performance.

What is the part number for the bbk headers you got? Im shopping around for my 02 ls1 and was looking at bbk and pace setter. How much did they get them for too if you know?

That is probably what you are referring too correct? It does not specify if it has the o2 sensor spot available though. I would buy these today if I knew.

The rear O2 sensor bungs come in handy for hooking up a wide-band o2 sensor.
If you get a set of BBK LT headers it'll have 2 bungs on the header collectors and 2 on the Y-pipe.

Yup 2 @ collector and 2 on y pipe. Aunt and uncle gifted them to me but they were listed as 380 on bbk website for chrome. Btw I'm removing air and egr. What plugs do i need for the intake manifold?

You need a freeze plug, the size I think is in one of the stickies. And yeah it has 2 sensors on the headers n 2 on the y pipe.

Around where i live cops are cool with muscle cars for the most part. Got two friends with ridiculous loud mustangs and one who had a loud *** 97 ta and they never got pulled. currently I'm stock mani/cats with a dumped dynomax bullet, it's pretty writer for the most part, gonna be interesting with lt and no cats.

I would highly reccomend BBK. I have BBK on my ls1 formula, and had pacesetters on the lt1 formula. In my opinion, Pacesetter dont even compare. The BBK's fit perfectly, and look amazing. I am very satisfied with no complaints(other than wishing they came with a 3" Y). Hope this helps somewhat.
