Default What is needed to put truck coils on ls1?

I know i have read how great the truck coils are and that you can pick up some power. Well i also have a 02 5.3l pickup. was servicing it last night and thinking i don't really care about performance as much on it, i should swap them onto the camaro.

So can i simply unbolt the coils and their mounts. then bolt those onto the valve covers of my camaro? I just installed msd wires on both, so i can take the longer pickup coils and then run them on my camaro as well.

One other question is are all truck coils the better higher output coils? cause looking at them they looked almost identical to the camaro's coils. But did look like they sat higher on the valve cover, thus needing the longer wires.

Waste of time/money.

But if you are dead set there are at least 2 dozen threads about this. Search.

Gains can be had with dwell tuning that takes advantage of them. On a stock engine, it's almost not worth the work/cost.

Some have reported gains, some have reported no gains. Those who've reported no gains did not do any dwell tuning work.

It's all here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ke-sticky.html
