Default Aftermarket balancer?

I have a 408 that made 52x hp for it's previous owner and should be within 25 hp with the heads I am putting on it.

My question is do I need a aftermarket balancer or will my stock 6.0 balancer work just fine? It is built to stay uner 7000 rpm.

for strokers it is a good idea to get a aftermarket balencer, ATI makes some of the best.

stay away from small diamiter underdrive ones, there not a good idea for stroked engines and dont help with the harmonics well enouph.

but a stocker will probably be just fine, but definetly dont go underdrive

I run an aftermarket UD pulley on my stroker, and it is not a problem. Your rotating assembly is internally balanced, and suppressing harmonics are what the balancer is for. ATI is really one if the best out there.

I don't see a problem in running a regular diameter OR an underdrive from ATI...I wouldn't trust a fly by night company damper in any diameter...but ATI is a very nice product, very well designed, and they function quite well.

So stock will be OK at least for a wile. We will see what the budget allows but if the stock one will be sufficient it will probably serve for the first season.

Wanted to see if I could get a few more opinions that confirm the stock balancer will get the job done atleast for a little wile.
