Default power steering: to ditch or not to ditch

i'm debating on putting a manual rack in my car later on, but i dont know if the extra power is worth the pain in the *** to steer. keep in mind, this will not be a daily driver. streetability is not an issue.

how easily do these cars turn standing still with manual racks??

Should be bearable with skinnies.

Skinnies and manual rack in my 89 coupe is alot different then my 98Z with no powersteering hose and stock wheels. Of course the Mustang weighs 700 pounds lighter, but still I think it's not bad. I'm about to convert the Z to manual, but don't want to spend the $600 on the rack.

I daily drove mine for a week w/out pwr steering with 275's on front. It sucked in parking lots but was bearable. Now I DD with my skinnies up front and it's not bad at all. But with 315's? Depends on what you can handle, haha. I will add though, that mine is just the power steering rack with the lines looped. With a manual rack it's supposed to be much easier...

I have seen a thread on here somewhere about this same thing. Guy picked up a tenth or less in the quarter and about 1 mph. Not worth the hassle in my opinion. Of course I know your not drag racing it but...it gives you a comparison power wise...very minimal.

for autox I would definetly keep it, cornering is where you make your time not with HP I have seen economy cars make better times than performance cars simply because they could turn better cause they were made of nothing
